Omg, I love that line it's perfect, it sums up so much, both about the story and about life in general -- the ways people fumble around and find ways to cope when they are alone in their heads.
It is both funny and completely, painfully accurate. I loved seeing how both Sirius and Kingsley have had to try to reconcile parts of themselves that that society regards as both wrong and contradictory. And everything about Sirius' journey as a closeted wizard was perfect.
The way you explored the psychology of Azkaban was so well- done: the specific way it affected Sirius' memories and emotions and made him forget about his sexual orientation for a while and the way Kingley made everything come rushing back for him was an angle I don't think I've ever seen anybody take. It's definitely a trademark of your writing and I would have guessed you wrote this before seeing the author.
And it made me laugh. You gave everything a dry, sometimes dark humor that works perfectly in this context. :)
