Okay, make that four parts. Gah!:

You really nailed Katniss and her reasons for doing what she does. She's not an activist, she has been too damaged by her life to look beyond her family, and she tends to focus on the trees more than the forest. She hasn't had the push she needs yet. One thing -- why doesn't Gale have a bow? I thought Katniss gave him one of hers to use, I would think he would be able to use it as long as they were in the woods?

I really loved the ending, Finnick realizing how much he missed Haymitch, them reconnecting without having to talk about it. Haymitch seems to understand what is going through Finnick's head more than he does. Loved the touches of affectionate snark from Haymitch. I have to admit that I would be happy if the entire fic consisted of them hanging out together without anyone else, so it was great to see them together at the end.

Well, they are closing this coffee shop so I need to go...I don't have enough time to edit so I'm just going to post this. No matter what I do I always miss typos anyway. :)

I'm so glad Kat works for you. She's such a tricky character to write. Taking a 1st person protagonist and an unreliable narrator to boot and showing her as a supportive character from the outside, I find it incredibly hard.

One thing -- why doesn't Gale have a bow? I thought Katniss gave him one of hers to use, I would think he would be able to use it as long as they were in the woods?

Two reasons. I think he wouldn't bring a bow Kat gave him because it's still Kat's bow. Also the oldest trainee is fourteen, while Gale is tall and muscular, so they couldn't even use his bow. They'd need one of Kat's.

I have to admit that I would be happy if the entire fic consisted of them hanging out together without anyone else, so it was great to see them together at the end.

Also, never mind the typos! God knows I produce plenty of them myself.
