Gakked from sabaceanbabe.

Oftentimes people don’t leave comments or feedback because they’re not sure what to say. They don’t want to remark on things the author may not have meant for them to notice, or the overall impression is so strong that it drowns out specifics. Below is a list of questions to consider for what I’ve already written, and let me know ( Read more... )

For 10, I'd honestly be kind of wary of Spin Control if I hadn't read your stuff before because of the uncommon main pairing. But I like how you write and I'm interested in the story and the character dynamics so I've stuck around. And I have been enjoying it so far! It's certainly different from most other fics nowadays. :)

Oh, awesome, thank you. :) Yeah, I keep running into this problem. It's all "let's write this pairing that absolutely nobody can picture" or "let's try selling people on this really obscure kink" with me and then people around me blink and reply, very politely, "Well it's a little hard to picture right now..." ;)

That's part of the fun, really, seeing how it comes together. ;)

3. I do kind of wish you'd go back the Moss on the Ruins 'verse and write Finnick finally going to meet Annie, but I totally understand if you never do.

10. Honestly, Finnick/Haymitch. I've never thought of them as a romantic pairing at all, prior to Spin Control, but you've made me a believer.

11. Your writing is is excellent to begin with, but I find it difficult to remember most of the time that English is not your native language. It always surprises me when I come across a word or phrase that isn't quite right. You write so much better than so many people for whom it is their native tongue.

If ever I write a meaty THG fic again after Spin Control, it will be that Annie/Finnick fic. I did a first rough outline for it right after MOTR, though I got stuck - I think having written SC would help me getting unstuck, however. It's pretty much the only fandom plot bunny that's tickling me at all right now. THG is quite the adventure for me, because there is so much of my own personal life that I can put into writing the victors, in a way that sometimes feels a little emotionally unsafe, honestly, but also like an opportunity I won't ever get again. I can identify with Finnick for the ongoing trauma and with Haymitch for the trauma that has festered, his defensiveness. But if I wrote that fic, it would be an Annie POV and that would be more about struggling with mental disability, how that doesn't make you less of a person, and maybe how you deal with people who think otherwise. I think exploring Annie could be a way of learning something about myself. Plus I'd make her badass! :D So that is something that I would really like to ( ... )
