spreading the love... & drabble report

I'm thinking I should translate some BSG fics into German. Gaeta fic, naturally. Not necessarily my own. There isn't a German BSG fandom to speak of but that doesn't mean I can't spread the love. And those poor people are still stuck in the midseason break. Huh. I'll have to think about that. It's been a lifetime since I've translated anything but it's fun. It's also a nice pastime in that I can do it when I'm too tired or too uninspired to do anything productive.

It's kind of a way to give something back to fandom, which is nice (it's not that I'd get any feedback... nobody ever gives feedback for a translation). In my last fandom, I used to write essays for writing beginners (if I say beginners, I mean it. It was on fanfiction.net, so go figure). How to write a good summary -- how to create a character -- how to keep a text short. That kind of thing. That was very gratifying - I still get emails about that sometimes. But writing essays is hard and involves my brains, which I don't like overusing. So, translating it is. ;)

I'd have to go and ask for permission first of course, so don't worry that I'd do anything untoward with anybody's story. ;) I'll have to think on it a bit.

In other news, I've got a drabble.

Restless Farewell
