Busy Weekend

This last weekend felt a lot like "the good old days" somehow. The names and faces have changed but the feelings and activities really haven't. Even the sad events were good in that they were with people that I care about. The weekend looked like this:

Friday: I was with dramy, liberalryan, and glaucus for dinner and after-dinner conversation. That bunch of people always makes me happy and feel like I've been part of something special.

Saturday: I went to awesomeryan's dad's funeral, then to rehearse with DTM for the first time with our new keyboard player (who is really, really good). We also started adding our first rap song, with (believe it or not) me on vox. I'm doing Tone Lóc's Wild Thing. There is a bit of me that wants to do Weird Al's "Isle Thing" but I haven't decided to learn 2 versions of the song yet.

Then it was dinner with solimar, one of my absolute favorite people, and out with sinamarie and company for her divorce party. Finish that off with a smaller gathering at azurelion's place where I got to try my first Muscadine wine (it smells like an old ladies' hair salon and tastes like fermented koolaid) and finalize plans for Sunday night.

Sunday: I was up too late on Saturday though. I overslept church. That's bad. I did make it up for lunch and then went to my niece's 3rd birthday party and out dancing with sinamarie and dancingbill.

Monday: I woke up for the extra day off and finished arranging music for bam, worked on some side-job stuff, made a blueberry pie, and then went to dinner with melsdiner and his wife. I hadn't seen them in ages, so we got caught up in catching up and dinner didn't end until 12:30am.

So today came early, but everything was worth it. Good times, my friends. Good times.
