What is UP?!?!
It is exactly 7:21 right now. I got home at 6:15. Since then my phone has rung 20 times. I've answered 5 of those calls. The others I let roll to voice mail, but the phone has been ringing so much that I started answering to find out what the deal is.
I've been called in the last 5 calls by a Vietnam veterans group, a group soliciting money for McCain, a group looking for donations for cancer research, Discover card, and a group asking for money to combat children's hunger.
Now, I tend to think I donate a lot of money to charity, but this is ridiculous. I wouldn't ever give money to McCain, and I hate all credit cards equally, but I'm really flumoxed. Why would suddenly today be the day that everyone calls me?
If anyone asking for donations reads this, let me say this. I was put on the national do not call list, and that is supposed to be able to keep people from calling me. I know that there are groups that are exempt, but if you call me during dinnertime, I won't ever give you money. I look at my mail. I look at my email. Don't call me if you want to advertise or solicit.
I'm really annoyed at the moment. It's super irritating to be hammered by phone calls. That is NEVER the way to get me in a giving mood. I have to work to get over the irritation to even listen to the cause. Grr...
