What a wonderful weekend...

So far this has been a really busy weekend filled with all sorts of fun and excitement.

On Friday I woke up feeling nasty and miserable, but after sleeping for a while I felt much better. Just before 5 popsbabypenguin got to my place. We figured out what the gathering and dinner plans were to be, I started cooking, we lost track of time talking, and rushed out the door to make it to see a black and white play at the Pegasus Theatre. Well actually at the Eismann these days. I hadn't seen them since they had their own theater in Deep Ellum though.

One very pleasant surprise is that I saw for the first time in ages Carrie Slaughter. She was in living black and white, still beautiful, still very friendly after the show, and still performing in Dallas. So I got my picture with her before moving on to dinner with the M's, then some really long, interesting conversations with popsbabypenguin keeping us up past 4am.

That was all ok though. Saturday morning we just kind of did very little. She asked me where the music was, and since the iPod was in the car and her stuff was still in my music room, I started playing stuff. I played her my new original that I'm working on recording, the 3 theme-songs for the past 3 years (High & Dry, Somebody To Love, I Just Don't Think I'll Ever Get Over You) plus some of the stuff I prepped for the Neohaynie wedding, and finally we got really hungry and went to lunch.

There I ran into Becky Hardin, the SMU Doll from my last couple of years at SMU. She just had twins 6 months ago and also has a 3 year old daughter. I also met her husband, but the children were left at home. After lunch popsbabypenguin headed back to Little Rock and I went to Sambuca for my audition.

Apparently Sambuca is run by a bunch of idiots. They canceled our audition last time because their club owner decided he couldn't be bothered. This time the music booking guy couldn't make it and the club guy was letting the band performing that night set up right when we were supposed to be trying out. So this is the 2nd time they've canceled on us, and they said that we'll have to audition on a weekday during the afternoon, no matter what our work schedules are. That's the rule and we can either take it or not play their club, even though they've been the flakes both times so far. Grrrrr...

Next step was running out to buy some glassware to replace broken glasses, and I found a GREAT deal on some sets, ($15 for 4 big red wine glasses, $15 for a set of old fashion glasses plus an ice container, tongs, and a tray) plus a copy of Blind Wine for $17 over at Linens & Things in Addison. Quite the deal. Then I ran home, changed clothes, called my brother, and the 2 of us plus Jeffy helped itsjames2u move a piano from my grandparents' home to his. Now there is a Pechtacular vintage piano, 1915 upright player, in need of tuning but otherwise in fine shape that my grandparents needed moved because my aunt is gifting them a baby grand. It worked out great for everybody.

Next stop was dinner provided by the Pechtacular couple again, and then too see liberalryan and dramy about their computer. It was broken. It's still broken, but at least we think we know why. And follow that with a trip bowling with Kat & James, and you are filled in through Saturday.

Today I've so far done church, had lunch with musicalash, cleaned a bit, and sat down to write this. Next in line is working on some quick coding for the website (maybe actually getting my recipe thing up if I can code fast) and watching the Cowboys before I get to the Full of Eels rehearsal where we run down the full set for Thursday.

Busy busy...
