Go Cowboys!

Last night was really, really great. Thanks again to saintdave22 for the ticket and the excuse to leave work early.

Ok, not really early. I hadn't been able to sleep the night before and had a morning con call, so I started working from home around 4:30 yesterday morning. I just took a break to come into the office. But it was a good impetus to get everything done early.

So I left the office at 3 and drove to Dave's office. To do that I had to drive right by Texas Stadium, so I got stuck in traffic there, but I got to his place at 4. jefferytaco got there a couple of minutes behind me and our 4th musketeer got there by 4:20 for us to head back to Texas Stadium. From there we went down to the game.

We parked around 5 and walked to the stadium. We actually walked for 20 minutes to get to the party area, but they had Le Freak playing, Skyy vodka giving away free shots, and hooters girls selling bad food. So we hung out there until around 6.

We went to our seats by 6:15 to watch the pregame warmups. There were Packer fans both in front of and behind us, but they were mostly the good natured, fun fans. We picked at each other, but nobody was aggressive. They were cool people. The only exception to that was the short, cute, petite Packers fan in front of us who had one hellacious fiery temper. She slapped some guy for cheering when the Cowboys scored. I don't know if she knew him or not. But she was entertaining to watch as a general rule. I guess that it's like a pearl... if you're pretty enough nobody cares if you're really irritating to the core.

But the Cowboys looked good. We were sitting about 24 rows off the sideline somewhere between the endzone and the 10 yard line. I missed being able to see replays and have people tell me what the penalties were. I still don't understand what happened with the play in the first quarter where it looked like TO had the ball stripped but we got it back. But the guys were fun, the fans around me were fun, and I had a blast.

After the game we walked back to the car and, luckily, since we were so far from anywhere you'd want to park, we actually got out of the stadium area fairly quickly. I was home by 12:30 and asleep by just after 1.

And with the Cowboys winning by 10, it was a great game all the way around. I've seen Favre play in person now. I've seen Romo play in person too. I have a story for the ages. Fun times, fun times.
