weekend update

Last weekend was one of the more fun ones I've had recently.

Friday night I went out for Zombie night with Gen-X Ms. We watched zombie movies, ate jello "brains", drank zombies and brain-hemorrhages, and played the zombie board game. Really, it was a fun night.

Saturday was the SMU/Marshall game. The beginning was cool because explosiveturtle showed up for the first time this year. Then the 4th quarter was the best I've seen by an SMU team in a lot of years. I've decided that SMU has gone from truly awful to decidedly mediocre in just 2 years, and you know what? I'll take it.

After that I went to MaestroKevin's for a get-together. His buddies are cool. We talked about Zappa's music and compared it to Boulez and Varese, and not many groups would be able to do that. So that was fun. There was also very good wine and beer and a LOT of guacamole, so fun all the way around.

Sunday was church, jazz-band rehearsal, full of eels rehearsal... and Laser Tag! Aimee & Ryan had a friend in town who wanted to play Laser Tag, and we found a place in Plano. 2 levels, grated floors in spots, and loads of entertainment. It was like the old Photon multilevel mazes, or like live-action Doom. Really it was a LOT of fun, and not too horribly expensive. $15 for an hour of shooting people.

And I've finally collected up enough links to pass along for a little trifecta again:
