i don't really remember. although i do remember (rather randomly) that when i was really young and i'd had a bad dream, i'd put my light on and then i'd lie with my eyes closed and imagine a pile of red apples on my bedside table, it used to calm me down and i'd eventually fall back to sleep without turning the light off - yes, i was a strange child o.0
