(no subject)
Still in Austin. We didn't have a show yesterday so we went to the mall all day and then got another hotel.
Hotels suck. Well they don't, they're actually fantastic and it's a miracle we've able to get so many with money we've made for shows, but they're so much money that if we just worked a little harder to not stay in them we'd be so much better off.
That said, I've been sleeping like an angel.
I stayed up late last night trying to work on re-booking a couple days off from cancelled shows and stuff. I got a pretty sick one to replace the show in Virginia that got cancelled, so I'm pretty happy about that.
Back in Mississippi I think, Matt bought a giant dagger that looks like something the Green Ranger would carry. He spends entire rides sheathing and unsheathing it, and then he holds it to everyone's face at least 3 times a day. He tried stabbing my book yesterday. and the only real question in all of this is as follows: Why the hell do gas stations in Mississippi carry real life Power Rangers weapons?". Matt's been calling it a "sai", I'm not sure why but he mentioned something about "dagger" being too masculine. Not sure I completely understand, but I'm not fucking with him while he's armed.
Having IHOP twice in one day (even though neither meal was particularly bad) put me in a constant state of "I need to poop" yesterday, but I'll be damned if it wasn't worth it. Anya took us out to eat there last night, and I'd be lying if I didn't say for a good two hours she was my favorite person who ever lived ever.
Spending the day in a mall yesterday almost felt like home. haha. Actually it sucked. Finally spending a day not thinking about a) How hot it is or b) How late we're going to be to the show was a welcome change of pace though, so no matter what I did I'm sure I would've loved it.
I can't wait to go to South of the Border. I can't fucking wait.
Today starts an awesome badass string of 4 awesome badass shows. Including New Orleans tomorrow. I'm excited.
I got to talk to Jamie, Natoli and Hamilla yesterday. That was nice. I found out yesterday that 3 Monkeys Named Bob are playing the show at the Backdoor with us when we get home on August 4th. That is the best news of all time ever. Watch It Die's playing too, that show is going to be so off the meat rack that we'll have forgotten the meat rack ever existed by the 2nd hour.
