1. What did you do in 2017 that you'd never done before?

Completed the RN to BSN program at Mercyhurst University, I now have a Bachelor's Degree. Woot.

Travelled to Seattle and the Pacific Ocean to visit with my wonderful friend Ben.

Travelled to Gettysburg and southern Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Delaware.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Unlikely. I suppose I will, I have a lot of new goals for this coming year.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Caroline had a baby Annabella.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Bobby Jackna just passed away last week. One of our longtime residents, room 3313 passed away.

5. What countries did you visit?
Didn't leave the country this year.

6. What would you like to have in 2018 that you lacked in 2017?
Confidence.

7. What date from 2017 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
August 30th I ended a very longterm relationship.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Graduating nursing school with a 4.0 GPA.

9. What was your biggest failure?
Continuing to allow my health to go by the wayside as I still have not lost a sufficient amount of weight.

Continuing to be self-defeating.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Knock on wood, I havent' had a cold in a long time.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
Techically bought Dana, who is a work in progress for sure. Bought a neat new bag, spectacular stethescope and and Kleen Kanteen.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
.. .  I never know how to answer this.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Some coworkers, as usual. Patrick has disappointed me.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Mortgage, school loans, books.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Being done with school. Meeting new friends. Visiting Ben in Seattle.

16. What song will always remind you of 2017?
Can't really think of one just now.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:

i. happier or sadder? happier
ii. thinner or fatter?  about the same
iii. richer or poorer? A little richer, though technically that money is owed in school loans

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Living. Eating healthy, Exercising. Spending time with the dogs.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
worrying...

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
I will be off on Christmas Eve this year and will get to spend it at Aunt Chrissy and Scott's house. Christmas Day I have to work but will visit my parents for breakfast in the morning.

22. Did you fall in love in 2017?
That is yet to be determined.

23. How many one-night stands?
none.

24. What was your favorite TV program?
Narcos, Big Mouth, Rick and Morty, Psych. I've been enjoying a lot of comedies on Netflix.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
nope

26. What was the best book you read?
I read the Code to the Extraordinary Mind which verged on being a self-help book but was an interesting read. Working on Slaughter-house five right now. Then I think I would like to re-read Lolita. And if Matthew ever finished the book he is reading, that will be next on my list.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Embracing Hozier and some 90s alternative music more thoroughly.

28. What did you want and get?
More time, some really nice vacations.

29. What did you want and not get?
More solitude? Peace.

30. What was your favorite film of this year?
I just watched Canonball Run, it was interesting. 12 Monkeys was pretty good.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
Just prior to my birthday I flew out to Seattle and spent a few days with Ben and Sam. We wandered the city, visited Bainbridge Island, and went to the Pacific Ocean. it was a glorious trip!

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
More confidence.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2015?
Scrubs. My fashion has started to mature a bit. I like sweaters and like pocketed/buttony jackets. But, I remain obese so it's hard to do anything fantastic.

34. What kept you sane?
Effexor

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Ewen Mcgregor as of late, what a pretty boy. Also, James Roday.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
It's all frustrating.

37. Who did you miss?
Everyone. Once again, I've been absent. Second shift makes things difficult.

38. Who was the best new person you met?
Matthew. We actually met last year, but our working relationship has become solid. He's been particularly helpful at work.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2017.
Ignore the "Brules" that society sets up for us and strive for what is meaninful and produces happiness for oneself.
