Sigh. Will be joining her in NYC on 2 Jul though.
Will stay for 3 days, head up to Boston. Will spend a couple of days there before going down to Washington DC. Then hurry back to NYC for more musical-watching, shopping and whatnot before coming home to be with Erin.
Any recommendations on what to do, where to go?

here we go:
you have to go to the museums in washington dc!

http://spymuseum.org/
new york
outlet shopping - http://www.premiumoutlets.com/outlets/outlet.asp?id=7
of course the usual shopping spots like soho, 5th avenue, herald square.
i like to shop in the east village, not just because i live there but because they have kitschy little stores by local designers.
for kids, there is toys'r us and m&ms world in times square. you can get lots of children clothes from woodbury for erin.
please go to MET and MOMA if you have time! you need at least 5-6 hours for it if you are slow walker like me. :) we spent 7 hours at the natural history museum last sat. it's not bad but SI in washington is even better.
food wise, there are TONNES of restaurants and the hole-in-the wall places are usually the best.
Gramercy Tavern - http://www.gramercytavern.com/
go to the bar if you don't have reservation, they serve the same food and probably at a cheaper price i was told. i only had lunch at the bar. Food and service is impeccable. i love the old charm and seasonal flowers to decorate the restaurant.
Otto - http://www.ottopizzeria.com
gwyneth goes here and so should you! it's good and affordable pizza in greenwich.
Mercadito - http://www.mercaditorestaurants.com/index2.htm
tacos and margaritas! you have to try the real mexican food in the US. nothing like the tex-mex sh*t we have in singapore.
Rosa Mexicano - http://www.rosamexicano.com/
Butter - http://www.butterrestaurant.com/
restaurant/bar/check out the socialites, food and service is pretty good plus it's a GOSSIP GIRL place!
ono - http://www.chinagrillmgt.com/ono/main.cfm?pp=0
japanese fusion, cool decor but expensive.
others that were recommended but i hadn't tried.
morimoto - http://www.morimotonyc.com/
allen and delancey - http://www.allenanddelancey.net/
Gordon Ramsay (if you are willing to indulge!)- www.gordonramsay.com/gratthelondon/
Gotham Bar and Grill - http://www.chinagrillmgt.com/ono/main.cfm?pp=0
and do what the new yorkers like to do on weekends: BRUNCH and desserts!
pastis - http://www.pastisny.com/
balthazarny - http://www.balthazarny.com/
joe doe - http://chefjoedoe.com/ (my favourite to die for buttermilk biscuits with sausage gravy)
chikalicious dessert bar - http://www.chikalicious.com/ absolutely to die for if you have a sweet tooth like me.
i've gave ET my number, so buzz when you guys are here. :)
