Sewing, sewing and more sewing

So wedding plans are progressing.  Been sewing like there’s no tomorrow, but enjoying some fun sewing time with Pink Monkey and the rest of the gang when I can.  Also had a blast sewing wedding dresses together with Elfa when she brought over our way cool new wedding glasses.  Cool blue and fabulous.  Almost have my dress finished, just one more sleeve, the hem, and a few more embellishments.  I even have almost all the inside seems done.  Did the whole thing by hand, I think my laurel has finally rubbed off on me (and I only had to redo the inside gussets 3 times, not too bad, by the third time I finally stopped cussing outloud).  Worked on Nick’s tunic today, did some of his by machine though, need to get finished and his was easier to do on the machine. I kind of fear my machine because I’m still not good at sewing a straight line, but I think Nick’s came out alright (although I may need to redo his gussets too, but I cut them big and sewed them in smaller so changing them will be much easier). Still need to add the trim, cuffs and embellishments to Nick’s.  Was suppose to leave for a family reunion today, but needed to get to a point I could take the dress and tunic with me so I had to delay the trip an extra day, but should be in good shape tomorrow now that Nick’s tunic is finally in one piece.  Tomorrow I need to finish my inside sleeve because the silk lining is fraying inside and I’m worried about traveling with it before I get it sewn in, so need to work on that first thing in the morning.  Also a little behind because Nick dislocated his knee in martial arts on Sunday so been trying to look after him and drive him around.  We went to see a physical therapist on Monday and they gave him some exercises to get the swelling down, they won’t know if there is any ligament damage until the swelling comes down so could be a few weeks before we know the full damage.  He wasn’t walking on it the first day, but was able to walk a little yesterday and walking better today.  The physical therapist said he should be able to walk in the wedding, slowly, but normally.  This is his first real injury, but he’s trying to see past the fear and know that he will be back to training soon.  I’m just keeping my fingers crossed it’s not a ligament tear.  I’ve been through 3 knee surgeries, so I’m a little cautious on the knee stuff, but just sending good vibes out that it’s minor and he’ll be back to normal after a quick recovery.  OK, need to get some sleep, too tired to sew anymore tonight, my eyes have gone bug eyed, I can barely thread a needle.  So off to sleep so I can start sewing again in the morning.  Did I mention I decided to have a train on my dress, I really had no idea how much more fabric that was, now I know, silly me.
