an unwanted connection

i got a letter today from an aquaintence from high school.

i mean, was it enough that she would play with my jacket "snaps" on my shoulders in class, or subtly rub my back but make odd excuses as to why? YES, of course it was enough. so why did she go and send me a letter?

if you know who i am talking about, please convince me right now to not shoot myself in the mouth. but in all fairness, i guess she is a nice girl. maybe a bit strange in some ways. or maybe she just sent the letter to get me. you know she did. just like the 8,50 euro cola in paris, ive just been had, again.

on a lighter note, my weekend has been rather swell. i have interacted with more of my peers the last few days than in the last 3 and some odd weeks combined. they even asked me to hang out again next weekend. but we do have saturday school. 4 hours! ridiculous. its even more ridiculous that i have to go, since i have only 2 hours of sport and then 2 free hours. if my host mother didn't insist on me going i would surely be sleeping in every saturday. and this brings me back to my fake personality entry. as an exchange student, my job is to please everybody, be incredibly nice, and do anything to keep my host family from throwing any more unneeded and unwanted criticisms as to my behaviour. i guess i just need a new personality. the american is too typical for germany. no matter what.

today i was at a friends house and all day they relentlessly made remarks about the US, all pertaining to certain movies or music or tv that they had seen so-called "depicting" american life. we americans are retarded. why do we make ourselves look so stupid for the whole world to see? oh yeah, because it sells and makes money at the cost of our respect and integrity. its a good bargain, one might think. we are america, we dont care what anybody else thinks. we have everything we need right here. why should we care how the other countries think?

that's right. we shouldn't.
