I'll class this as a 'partial review' since I didn't order and buy this dress, so I can't comment on the service of the seller. I shall just review the quality of the dress :3
This lovely dress was given to me as a late 21st birthday present, from my sister! She kindly ordered the matching headbow as well :D
The fabric is cotton, with a grey and white houndstooth pattern and cute little poodles and bows in black. The dress is fully lined, making it a tad warmer than a light summer JSK, but as it looks alright without a blouse it may be fine to wear in warmer weather. It has a lovely scalloped edge with a second layer of ruffles underneath, which gives a little extra foof to the skirt. Unfortunately I didn't realise that the lace was caught underneath the scalloped hem when I was taking this photo! Oops!
Close up of the print plus detail of the bodice. The main bow and the top section of the bodice have a soft mesh-like covering to add some contrast. I think it is a lovely touch! The lace running down the bodice is the same which lines the bows and the sleeve straps and is surprisingly good quality. The lace running underneath the mesh panel is also surprisingly good!
Detail of the lace on the scalloped hem. I'm not entirely sure what the pattern is on the lace (maybe an upside down bouquet of flowers?), and the lace is not as cute or high quality as AP's - which is completely understandable. However, it is softer and nicer to touch than Bodyline's hemline lace. Sometimes Bodyline's lace has extra raggedy bits where it was not trimmed properly, but Dear Celine's lace definitely does not have that problem!
Stock photo from QutieLand, showing the shirring and lacing at the back. The waist ties are a very good length and hold up well when tied into a bow (I mean, it's not a floppy bow). They are detachable, which is handy :3
Picture of the headbow. This was the only bit I could find to criticise - there were a couple loose threads and the stitching on the back of the bow which attaches it to the headband is quite dodgy. I may need to restitch that, depending on how well it copes with wear. Other than that, the bow is a decent size and has the same good quality lace on it.
Overall, I'm pleased with the style and quality of this dress. It is the first Dear Celine piece I own and I'm happy to say that I like it! I can already see how functional this piece will be, as it can easily be co-ordinated with white or black. The stock photos don't really do it justice so I hope that these close up photos of the print show how nice it is :3
