Marking Time

Well we've done it, found an acreage home that LOML and I both like, made a conditional offer which has been accepted, listed our home for sale and now we wait... I am working hard to remain detached and not become emotionally involved with mentally moving into the new place before we've sold our present home. During the past three weeks since listing our home only one interested party has come to view it and we've not received any feedback either. Our Real Estate Agent cautions that the market has slowed considerably, in our town only 11 homes have sold in the last three months, ouch! So, last night we dropped our asking price by $10K hoping to stimulate some (more) interest.

LOML aetheldaeg is keeping our home in pristine condition, no dirty dishes on the counter, no visible dust, plenty of vacuuming to ensure that cat fur is not visible anywhere but on the cats and generally looking after all the house upstairs.

Meanwhile, I continue to work on the basement reno. With our eldest daughter's help, the ceiling is now installed in the fitness room leaving six sheets of wallboard to finish that room. Doors will be installed in the next few days, french doors with small glass panes for the Craft Room and a solid panel door for the Fitness room which our Realtor is marketing as a bedroom. It's gratifying to see this long project coming to fruition as each wall is finished.

We're committed to working on our home while we mark time (military term for marching in place, making no forward progress) and wait to see what develops. Wish us luck that all comes together as desired.
