“Alan-One! I am so sorry.” Tron gently felt the bones of his User’s left leg. There was a very definite break. Alan-One was trembling slightly.
“Alan-One, where should I take you?”
“Th-theres…a…a…GPS…can lead you…h-hospital. N-need…m-my…glasses…pocket…” Again Tron reached into his User’s coat pocket and found a case holding the glasses and placed them gently on the bridge of Alan-One’s nose.
Alan, finally able to see properly again, reached across to the GPS to turn it on and then had it search and plot to the nearest hospital. He then eased himself back into the seat, gasping for breath. Tron noticed that Alan-One had bothered to reach across with his right hand - he and his User were both left handed. How was his User still able to function with so much damage…he knew he had to get him help soon.
Tron required only a few instructions to start and drive the relatively primitive vehicle. Upon arriving at the hospital, he got out, opened the passenger side door, and lifted his User into his arms yet again. Tron could feel his User trembling in his arms, could feel the rattling of his breath in his chest.
When he went through the doors to the Emergency Room, several Users rushed over to meet him; they clearly understood that his User was in a bad way. A few of the Users brought over a gurney and had him lay Alan-One on it. These new Users gently pushed Tron aside as they began working on Alan-One. A female User started asking Tron questions about Alan-One. It was odd knowing the answers to questions of height and weight - they were, after all, the same as his own. Tron was relieved that the woman seemed satisfied with his explanation of his User having been in a vehicle accident. He was nervous about everything he said or did in this world. He did not want to risk his User’s life because he was unable to say the right things.
A startling beeping noise caught Tron’s attention and he looked over the source. Something was seriously wrong with his User and the Users around him started moving very quickly.
“He’s crashing! Tube him!” Tron watched as the Users tilted back Alan-One’s chin and eased a tube down his throat. A machine was forcing air into his User’s chest. The program was suddenly very scared. His User could no longer breathe on his own. Tron’s circuits reeled at the thought of his User de-rezzing.
The other Users began slicing off his User’s clothing. Tron’s eyes fixated on his User’s long lean frame. It was hard to “see” himself essentially so broken. It was also strangely arousing. Tron knew it really wasn’t right, but he had an overwhelming urge to touch his User’s nude body. Even marred by the large swathes of bruises and blood covering his left side, his User was beautiful.
Tron’s train of processing was interrupted by the concerned voices of the Users.
“Punctured lung.” “Broken ribs…” “Spleed ruptured.” “Fractured tib/fib and radius.” “Prep him and get him into room 3.”
Tron stumbled backward, all but falling into a chair. There was nothing else he could do for his User right now, but wait. He knew the cycles would be forever. He just hoped that his User would survive this. Tron didn’t think he could live knowing he hadn’t protected his User better. It should have been him de-rezzed on the Grid, not his Alan-One.
