According to the article, French-speaking Swiss men have better sperm than their German-speaking counterparts. They speculate that the reason has something to do with industrialization. The German-speaking side is more industrialized, which may be affecting sperm production. But apparently further study is needed to confirm this hypothesis.
But here's my question, why are they studying this issue in the first place? The article lists all the agencies involved in the study, and it appears to be well funded. But it doesn't exactly say why this study came about in the first place.
Man, I would have loved to have seen the initial proposal for this study.
