The Shame Of CoDependancy

When anyone, including myself defiles them self publicly, they should loose their friends. And I think any friend who acts like the defilement is ok is being a lousy friend. All we have to offer people is who we show ourselves to be to each other; "showing ourselves to be" means what we do and say.

For instance, if a christian man gets pornographic material/services; he should be confronted and disciplined, or loose his friends.

If a christian spouse commits adultery because they refuse to honor and love God in their marriage (also refusing to honor and love their spouse), then they should be confronted, disciplined or loose their friends.

All we have to offer people is who we show ourselves to be to each other; "showing ourselves to be" means what we do and say. Defilement betrays not only ourselves but also our friendships. And while I (as a friend) would selfishly want to move on like nothing happened (because I enjoy the friendship), out of respect for friendship "itself" (and even humanity) I should tell them they need to resolve the problem.

For certain, I am guilty of having defiled myself and of looking the other way when some friends have fallen.
