Attention TRON fans in the tri-state area! According to
its website, the Museum of the Moving Image of Astoria, Queens, will be showing TRON: Legacy (in Dolby Digital 3-D) at 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday,
starting on Monday, April 18 and ending on Tuesday, April 26. Tickets are free with admission, plus a $3 rental charge for the 3-D glasses. Ticket prices, hours of operation and directions can be found
here.
Bonus attractions: the hall devoted to special effects includes a series of latex heads from Jeff Bridges's film Starman (used for the sequence in which his alien character matures from child to adult over a few seconds), while the videogame gallery features a vintage TRON arcade game (it was out of order on my last visit, but maybe it'll be repaired in the next couple of weeks).
