Countdown to SDCC ‘10: 197 days
Enough of watching from the sidelines this year, we’ve got our four-day passes including preview night. Oh yes!
Not that is an issue but I should probably share with you that everyone in our group is a Con Virgin. With that in mind, we’ll be documenting our efforts to get there plus any exciting Tron-related happenings that are scheduled to occur. Feel free to drop any helpful hints.
Our Mission will not require us to embark on a life-death journey but we have pretty specific targets:
- Land front row seats for the Tron Legacy panel
- **Hopefully** mingle with Jeff, Olivia and Garrett.
- Take active part in any viral events that may take place (Daft Punk?)
- Convince Garrett to have coffee with us (Some of us would prefer mojitos but we understand that beggars can’t be choosers).
PAIN POINT: Hotel reservations via the SDCC Centralized System.
We heard this was a blessed event last year with the servers apparently crashing for close to an hour right after the site opened to the public. Hopefully, the system supporting the centralized reservation system has been upgraded or built into a more robust shape this year -HINT HINT-.
We’re not crazy happy for this approach but when the hotel we have our eyes set on can only be reserved via the system, we have no choice to comply with the process. However, we've found out that some of the area hotels are taking reservations.
The SDCC 2010 Hotel Reservation System will be go live on March 18, 2010, 9AM Pacific Time. Mark your calendars and expect a disturbance in the force that day!
