So the last two days I've been pushed into more manager roles.
For example, yesterday two of my managers decided I should open all the registers, count the change, and make sure we have a decent amount of change in each. I also had to take a trip to the bank and work 1/2 the fitting rooms, while keeping an eye on Alison in Beauty and doing go-backs.
Then today, I opened all the registers and then Ingrid decided I should get my first taste of being a manager by running the store. So today I took my first segment ever as a trainee. I was expecting to be super stressed out, but it just came so easily to me. Most of my segment I ran a 51% conversion (meaning 51% of the people that walked in bought something) but it ended at a 40% (which is still pretty hard to achieve, most managers in my store get about a 30% on average). Plus it was the first time all day we made our sales goals for both bras and beauty (since I was able to sell as I ran around on the floor) and we managed to open 2 credit cards (always a struggle with the current economy).
So afterward Ingrid asked how I did and I told her and joked "I'm setting the bar high." She said "You sure are...go get 'em girl!" And even Dirk, our Pink manager, commented that now he'd finally have some competition. And Eric was in total shock when I told him; it was pretty funny.
It was such a fun experience and I totally rocked it; bring on the next one!
And when I got home I got my first photos from Saturday's Animal Rescue photo shoot and they look awesome as well. It was just an all around good day!
