GOP Seems a Bit Pressured in Interviews Lately

Sep 15, 2008 12:34

What's been amusing is that Obama used the rhetoric that he's the new guy and yet both McCain and Palin seem to be demonstrating that they are quite light on understanding of the issues. At dinner this weekend, a friend mentioned McCain's appearance on The View (not a show I usually watch). I had such fun watching it myself I thought I'd share it ( Read more... )

"She's the most popular governor in America."

Um, could that be because you nominated her as Vice President? Because, before you did that, I'm pretty sure only Alaskans had heard of her. And, in a straight popularity contest, I'm pretty sure that Arnold (The Governator) would beat the pants off her. Too bad he's not a natural-born citizen.

"She's ignited a spark in America."

Cue the flame wars. Maybe it'll ignite the fires of rebellion.

"Actually, you know that the Democrats have been in charge of both houses for the past two years. Seen any big improvements?"

No, cause some idiot in the White House keeps cock-blocking us.

"She reformed government in Alaska."

I'm sorry, but when did reforming a state with the smallest population become a chore? You don't even need sampling with a population that size; you can poll the whole frelling state.

"We should respect the views of those who believe in God and believe that we are a special nation."

I believe we should respect those views as well. I don't, however, think we should allow those people to make laws that affect us "non-believers." And what do you mean by "special"? Are you talking about the short bus?

"In prison I'd always tell my friends, not that we'd get out of prison, but whether it would be God's will for us to get out of prison."

Damn, he really should watch "PrisonBreak", cause it's not about God's will. It's about your will to do whatever is necessary to get out of your situation.

"I think Roe vs Wade was a very bad decision."

I don't think any male has the right to voice their opinion on this.

"I believe that life begins at conception."

Even in cases of rape or incest? Do you support rape or incest? (I wished Barbara Walters would've asked it that way.)

"He's so good at what he does."

What exactly does he do?

"The great thing about a McCain administration is that he will include all people. People don't necessarily have to agree on everything."

True, you don't have to *agree* with the law as long as you *obey* the law. I sure hope Roe vs Wade doesn't get overturned.

Oh, this was too funny.

And how would not cock-blocking you change anything? LOL

I don't, however, think we should allow those people to make laws that affect us "non-believers."

Well, we make laws that affect other people all the time. Perhaps to put it another way, I think it's inappropriate to have any law that speficially encourages, supports, or perpetuates any one faction to the detriment or the harm of others. You wanna bring prayer to school? Fine, bring ALL prayer to school... including for the Wicken, athiests, etc. Might need to make some room on the floor for the pentagrams, though.

It's about your will to do whatever is necessary to get out of your situation.

Oh... that's a good point to bring up on the community journal. Maybe we should lock you up and have you earn your way out of captivity as a means of achieving your aims? :D

I don't think any male has the right to voice their opinion on this.

Well, when viewed as a matter of public policy all views should be factored in. And who's to say it wouldn't still face serious opposition? There aren't any pro-lifer zealots who are women? ;) As a child of a then single mother who had to face the decision of what to do, I would absolutely defend womens' ability to have the option... should that support be left aside as well?

What exactly does he do?

You can be very good at doing nothing. In fact, it's impossible to screw it up, unless you do something. :)

Oh noes! Don't throw me in that briar patch! Be careful what you threaten with, cause you might be called on it later. 8)

Oh, silly man... all a subbie needs to throw another subbie under the bus is a nifty idea, mostly willing victim, and a bunch of more than willing dominants. Or hadn't you figured that out by now? :D

Yeah, but I think I like it under the bus. Is that a bad thing?

Not at all... we're always happy to serve up more bus to someone who enjoys it. Maybe we'll have to get you a name tag.... "SHORT BUS PIG". I have other "pig" nametags, but they probably wouldn't be appropriate for you. ;)
