Friday Munch Musings
Can't wait 'til we move to the new location. Could we start a week EARLIER? :)
I was glad to see so many people come. I actually stayed 'til closing. We had some people jet to see Martini Max perform -- would have liked that, but I knew I'd be crashing early that evening... and I did, around 11 or so. Where the beginning of the munch was very high "oh my god, you're drinking MORE coffee!?" energy, the latter part was more reflective. L in particular told many tales of evil and toys.
I also left feeling a little badly. We had a few newbies come, which seems rare to me lately. And for most of the munch they went ignored. I know there's a school of thought that says "well, they can be wall flowers until they're ready to jump in," but I still felt a little pang when I saw one pretty much go speechless the whole night, making furtive glances my direction periodically, and then he slunk away back into the dark toward the end.
One of my blogs-in-progress is about the whole question of reading signals and predatory submissives. I think the negative connotation is what was stopping me from just swapping to the other side of the table and saying "hey... what's on your mind?" But then there was that voice saying "do it, damnit". I guess I need to start listening more to it. ;)
