We're here

We did arrive -- it's just that once we got here, we had no internet access except the town's free wireless service, which meant going up the hill and sitting like a dork with laptop etc. Sorry.

Anyway, we got in Monday night, unloaded Tuesday and started unpacking, finished unloading and continued lazily unpacking Wednesday. The truck didn't have to go back til Saturday, and there was no refund for taking it in early, so I bombed up to Vancouver BC to Meg's mom's house and picked up her gramma's bedroom set that's been in storage forever, and the patio set her mom won from the Bay, and had no room for. Customs didn't even ding me, which was nice.

Whilst in Vancouver I stopped in to see the old/new bosses, had sushi bought for me and tried to figure out, with them, just what the heck I'll be doing. there are a bunch of different things, but the problem is, when the client likes you, they tend to try and keep you, and the bosses want me to be available for new projects that may come up (projects such as rewriting technical and training documentation, etc. and other things I suggested we could bid on). So ...yeah. Short and sweet trip. I might be training PMS and POS systems again for a while, and might be doing data migration, we just don't know. The only thing we DO know is I won't be on the road more than 50% of the time -- that was the mutually agreed upon number.

Final mileage put on the truck: 3210 miles. (5166 km according to google).

And now that I have internet access again, I see how many things I have to do. Durn it. And I have to go read and see what you all have been up to! :)
