Absolutely crazy. Have had about 5 hours of sleep from 1 am Sunday morning to now because of the wind rocking my trailer. Everything I touch inside my trailer is covered in dust or sand, everytime I chew I'm chewing on sand... but I'm lucky. I'm really lucky. The smoke I'm choking on is from the bajillion fires going on MILES away but the wind is blowing so badly that it feels like its next door.
Driving home today the skies were orange, completely and utterly ORANGE. A new fire has sprung up in Arrowhead so you can't even see the top half of that mountain. It almost doesn't seem real. I'm used to seeing the skies in So.Cal a hazy brown but not like this.
I've called my friend and Brother in San Diego and my friend is close to the evacuation area but at this time he isn't apart of the evacuation and my brother isn't too far from another evacuation point but for now he's fine. An entire major freeway from San Diego to Riverside, and this is no short drive, its about a 2hr drive from here to there, is COMPLETLY closed... both directions.
Heck even now I'm inside windows and doors closed, I'm a min 30 miles from the closest fire, and I'm choking from the smoke. I just keep coughing because there is soooo much smoke and ash that has been blown here.
If I find out even one of these fires were deliberately set I'm gonna be PISSED. We have had a rash of arson a couple years ago when winds were as consistently bad as they are now and I don't remember there being any arrests for that so there was always some concern he/she would come back (one of the letters sent in for a fire in Malibu that year said he/she would be back and this would continue)
