bits

~ Second week of rehearsals for Goodness and boy am I tired. The theatre seems really far away, especially at the end of the day. It goes well, though, speedy & well. I'd really like to get in the space and start doing something I can get my hands on.
~ I found out yesterday through Nic that a guy I worked with ages ago, an actor, killed himself by gunshot after shooting his girlfriend twice. This is disturbing because it's NOTHING like him, these actions, this choice, this out. He was always interested in guns, and as I understood it had somewhat of a violent past, but he seemed so together. It's just not sitting right in my brain.
~ I went to see Serenity on Sunday night, and had a wonderful time finding myself back in the 'Verse. I thought it translated pretty well on to the big screen, and it made me want to sit through my Firefly DVD's again - booking a night off, finding a new person to initiate. And while I don't imagine it's going to be a huge blockbuster or anything, it's a lovely smart complete way of wrapping up the stories of those people. I'm very interested to see what Joss Whedon does next.
~ A thing I ordered from California about three weeks ago still isn't here. Which is upsetting to me.
~ I heard that the US government is going to make having a passport a requirement for crossing the Canada/US border in a few years. They should just give a 365-day warning and then build a great big wall around the country; it'd be a much better way of keeping everyone in. Or out. Or both.
~ Confirmed on Monday: I'm going to be performing in the 2006 Rhubarb! Festival. I had a meeting with the directors of the festival and through talking about the kernel of an idea, came up with something that interests me very much. The two main things that I'm digging : random text performance, and an audience of 1.

art, theatre
