...but it'll pass. I made myself a really strong thermos of espresso before I left the flat this morning, and it's still piping hot. A bit of a pick-me-up, in advance of running Pyramids this afternoon. There's a crowd coming out now, but I can't tell what theatre it's from. It's big enough, could be Trav 1. And yeah, they seem like a 10:30 crowd.
I saw Happiness last night, Lucy Porter's show. She was the show that was right before us last year, at the Assembly Rooms, and it was always a titch demoralizing to see these gigantic line-ups for her show, and then our own liddle piddly one. But damn is she good. Funny, dark, biting, all the stuff I like from comedy. Not too stand-uppy (?) as well, which made me happy. It makes me wish I'd seen her show last year, actually, but I never did. The set-up for Suicide-Site Guide was too huge, and I've always had a hard time seeing a show before I have to run one of my own. Unless there's a lot of time between them. I laughed out loud more than once, at Lucy, and that's rare for me.
Tonight I run a bunch of Breath[e] shows, and we're coming up to the home stretch on that one. Sunday's the last bunch of shows, I think they end at 19:00, so if you haven't seen it yet, cough up the five and go. It's worth it. I mean, of COURSE I'm biased, but still.
Walking away from the Trav the other day and I saw Gabriel Byrne on the sidewalk. I almost stopped and said, "Miller's Crossing is one of the best films ever." but then I realized I'd look like a twat, so I didn't.
Oh, and on a totally unrelated note, Happy Birthday Jasmine.
