POLL: How should the mods handle the posting of fics?insulinshockMay 29 2010, 15:27:03 UTC
Anonymously? Spread out over time? Post as they get turned in? Allow everyone to post their own fics? All of the above, none of the above? Completely different Option E, which shall be shared in the reply?

I guess if it's not a competition or anything, it doesn't really matter if it's anonymous. I think it'll be a good idea to post them as they get turned because then it's more likely that they'll be spread out and people won't feel overwhelmed by a sudden influx of fic.

I'm worried that most people will submit their fics on deadline day though... that's common, right :3 And if we post them as they get turned that means we have to post them all at the same time, so it's no difference anyway. D:

that's true, I am really bad at leaving everything to the last minute, so I was thinking, maybe it would be a good idea to have quite a late deadline? then you've got more chance of people submitting way before it...or something :|?

Considering that everyone knows what everyone's writing and that we'll no doubt discuss plots and share excerpts, there isn't really much of a point in posting anonymously.
Maybe it'd be nice to have everyone turn their fic in first and then have a period of posting fic, spreading it out so that 3-4 fics are posted per day?

i like the idea of posting 3-4 fics a day, but not waiting until after the deadline. (this is for purely selfish reasons, though, since i have a lot more free time during the summer than after the end of august, which means less reading time for me ;_;)
maybe setting a cap of 3-4 fics a day and posting them that way even before the deadline, as fics are coming in? although i doubt more than 4 fics will be sent in on the same day until the deadline lol.

i think maybe posting them as they're turned in, that way people such as myself, who wait until the last minute, will have more time. ;____; judging by the authors participating, it would be too much if everyone posted at the same time, no?

The main problem is that most people will wait until the last minute ;___; i think saengie's idea (above your comment) works better? what do you think?

how about post fics as they're coming in and then post 3-4 each day after the deadline? i don't know about other countries, but most people here have more time during the summer to read :\ and if the deadline is after august, then school will be starting again
it could also be motivation for people to get it done faster, because otherwise they'll just put it off til the last minute knowing no one's gonna read their fic until september anyway? :D?
