This SUCKS.
Let the whining commence! You've been warned!
I'm sick. Throughout the winter, I tend to have spells of feeling less than stellar, but it's pretty rare that I get seriously sick to the point where staying home is necessary. Looks like this school year, however, is going to be a banner year for illness. I had a very bad stomach flu back in October (I wrote about it here, but I'm far too lazy to get the link) that caused me to miss several days of school. Now I have some other funk that has caused me to skip work and class today. This current funk started late this past weekend, when I realized that I was feeling kind of wonky and observed that I had some sort of weird breakout across half of my face. Yesterday I started feeling feverish and exhausted and noted that the weird breakout had spread across the rest of my face. This fantastic scenario culminated in me being awake most of last night, working very hard to avoid throwing up. Party. Now I'm on my couch in my jammies and feeling like I got punched in the stomach. I keep trying to convince Ian that I have Rubella, but he's not buying it.
This turn of events would suck regardless of what day it is, if only because I have an exam on Thursday in the class that I was forced to skip today, and I have copious amounts of homework to do. It extra-special sucks today because I actually had Valentine's Day plans that involved going out to dinner at a nice Indian restaurant that I've been dying to try. Now that I can't consume much more than dry toast and 7-UP, I'm thinking that Indian is a bit out of the question. Bah. Damn you, germs!
...and in rather unrelated news, I just got an e-mail coupon from Papa John's pizzerias with a "Valentine's Day deal" for buy-one-get-one free pizza. Now, I think my love of pizza is above average and bordering on unnatural, but dude -- pizza for Valentine's Day? Really? Nothing says love to me like a greasy pie.
