That last sentence you wrote...there are far too many brilliantly talented people like that, who don't realize how amazing they are.
The boyfriend's hairmetal album is...well (I am all about the ellipses today!)..."of an era," shall we say. :) It's the kind of album I would've loved to death when I was 11 or so (in fact, some of the backing vocals were performed by a guy whose own band's photo graced my closet door in junior high - along with a million other hairmetal band photos), which means that I find some of the lyrics and style mildly embarrassing* now. I do love the song I mentioned, though. I was too young to experience the lifestyle that went along with that music when it was happening, so it's interesting to be dating someone who actually was one of those guys I daydreamed about...back when I was doing said daydreaming.
*Then again, I'm very easily embarrassed.
I hope I haven't completely lost you by giving you too much information. :)

I very much enjoyed hearing about The Boyfriend's hairmetal album -- I was intrigued when you first mentioned it in your journal. It sounds very, very entertaining! I'm right there with you on the junior high walls-covered-in-hairmetal-posters thing and can imagine how fantabulous it would be to dating a veteran of the hairmetal scene. It certainly sounds like things are going well between you two. :)
