A few hours after I got off the phone with Andrew, I was stepping off the jet Warren had sent to fetch me, a personal guard or two with me. Once again: stoopid bringers. Once inside the compound, however, there was no need for them, since the place was locked down tighter than Azkaban in Voldemort’s heyday.
Even though I had stopped before getting ready to finally and completely open a can of whup ass on Cerberus big enough to take him out, I had somehow still gotten ready on time, and looked quite presentable for the occasion to boot. I’m usually not one to hem and haw over fashion, but I was a noble though, so appearances had to be kept up and blah blah poloticscakes…
As soon as I got inside, I saw Andrew standing with someone I didn’t know. A wide grin spread across my face when I saw Andy, remembering our conversation earlier. We were so going to have to get together and pound out some details for the live action D&D game.
And hopefully, I’d get to talk to Faith a bit tonight too. It’d been a while since she’d swung Massachusetts way. I guess maybe things had gotten busy enough to interrupt her regular visits to her hometown. I kind of wanted to talk to her anyway to ask her about restarting our training sessions. When the bringers first appeared we had started them, with the intention of improving my fighting skillz, which yeah, were nonexistent. Like level one, running around in Final Fanstasy only armed with a wooden sword nonexistent. And cause yeah, a potential should be able to defend herself, cause otherwise, that’s just lame. And the whole needing of bodyguards thing was a bit much for me. I liked it about as much as I liked the time my memory card just ‘lost’ all of my game data for Silent Hill 3 when I was right at the end of the game, but I was only a potential, and not an actual slayer, so it was all necessary, I guess.
“Hey!” I practically chirped, approaching them. I’m sure the guy would turn out to be pretty cool, though. Most of the folks that were around Andrew and Warren were.
((Tag Andrew and Tucker, maybe Faith? I don’t know. Whoever, really))
