Fuckity Fuck Fuck!
I have approximately 17 pages to write before 4:30 p.m. tomorrow afternoon.
Else I lose my Teaching position. And if I lose my Teaching position, I can't take classes in the Fall.
Fuck, fuck, fuck.
I -almost- have the Pearl paper finished: I am fucking -20- motherfucking pages into that bitch (which is 5 over the minimum required number of pages), BUT I have not finished my argument yet.
I'm saving that for last. If worst absolutely comes to worst, and if it looks like I won't get to that (by like 1:30 tomorrow afternoon), then I cut out all suggestions of what I had planned to discuss in that portion, revise my thesis statement, slap a conclusion on that mo fo and turn it in as is.
I think as it stands I could at least pull a B+. Maybe. I would settle for a B just to have the knots in my stomach go away and not have to worry about anything for awhile. I TRIED to work on the paper in Arizona, but even though I had several big chunks of time set aside, it didn't work. I at least got some of the research done during that time, but was only able to scratch out (and very painfully at that) about two pages of actual text.
Writing is a funny thing sometimes. If the conditions aren't right, no matter how smart you are, how much you know your topic, how well you've researched the bitch, it just ain't getting written.
I will write no paper before it's time.
As for the other one, I've busted my ass researching it since I got home to Davis. I started the writing about twenty minutes ago, and have almost two pages, so that's a comfort to me. I am dealing with three different texts, so I'm trying to look at it like a 3 mini-paper sort of deal: If I can write 3 5-page papers and try to link them together with strong enough transitions (and I have a good way to link them all together), then I think I can get it done. I have a bit more research to do, but if this one has to go under researched, oh well.
I have to wake up at 4 a.m. to make sure I have enough time to pull this off.
And hope to FUCK nothing goes wrong with my computer or anything else.
