2010 in fic

But first, Christmas wishes/cards/e-cards/v-gifts! Thank you to allaire, fluffyllama, tikiaceae (yes, it's still the same address!) and bwinter! I hope I haven't forgotten anyone now; things have been a bit ... hectic here since, oh, just before the yuletide deadline. :)

2010 wasn't a very good year for me, for writing or otherwise. It started out all right, but I fell into a hole somewhere and have only recently managed to crawl out of it again.

So what I've written (finished) in 2010 looks quite disappointing:

• 14 stories, 10 of which before April 8th
• 3 different fandoms, counting Doctor Who and Torchwood as one
• 42,318 words, all in English

I wrote a great deal more than that, of course, both in English and in German, but I couldn't finish anything between June and November, and my writing-fu was actually mostly absent, brief bursts notwithstanding, from mid-April to late December. Lots of ideas, no follow-through. Let's just say my list of WIPs has increased almost exponentially.

Of the stories I wanted to write in 2010, I managed exactly ... one! Namely, "something for Yuletide". *headdesk*

Of the good, though: I've had more ideas - not just vague concepts, but actual thought-out worlds and plots - for original fic than I've had in ... almost forever. Now, if only I could actually manage to write something ... *g*

So here's hoping for a better 2011! I'll have a think about what I want to write next year, and then there'll be another poll. I promise I won't hate you if you vote "zero" this time ... *g*
