Oh the fuel, the maddening fuel

that with spark, does light

the shadows to flame.

The hunger, the feeding flight,

that puts pleads to shame.

Oh the toil, the tedious toil

that does nought to harken night.

It’s futile, your cries and sight

which add oil to the fire.
