Thanks! I'm not sure I added anything new to the conversation, but I spent so many hours reading and thinking about this, that I just had to get it off my chest. I'm so sad that she's reacted like this, but not entirely surprised I guess.

Hey!! Oh man, I find myself almost wishing I wasn't flying to California tomorrow morning so that I could call you this weekend! So much to talk about here, and thank you so much for writing up this post. I'm feeling lucky that I never got around to getting more invested in Amanda Palmer than "oh, she seems pretty cool" because this is quite the clusterfuck. I haven't read around fandom enough to see people being offensive dumbasses about the whole thing (um, conjoined twins aren't disabled? WTAF?), and I'm sorry we have to have a new round of disability fail to go with the disappointment of the project itself. *sigh*

We will have to talk very soon after I get back from Escapade! {{{hugs}}}

And to be fair, it was not people in fandom (or my parts of fandom) that said that stupid thing. It was someone on Amanda's blog comments that I do not know. There were some really amazingly faily things said in those comments, but also some really smart things being said by other people. I'm just sorry Amanda's been too defensive to really listen. *sigh*

I was linked here by a concerned friend, and it caused me to go off on an epic rage.
