7 miles, bike trail style

Mar 27, 2011 17:06

After drinking my share of 5 bottles of wine last night (split between sisters and husband), I got up at the crack of 7 this morning, swigged a quick cuppa joe and headed for the bike trail. Met a few work peeps and C., walked seven 16-minute miles. I've been on the sofa recovering for the better part of the afternoon.

My weight is up (really? with all that wine?), and even though I've been walking a bit, I've slacked off considerably. Doing 2 miles instead of 3 or 4. 3.3 mph instead of 3.8. I did 5 miles last weekend, but I've not been pushing myself for speed or distance during the week. This rainy March has wreaked some havoc on my routine. I don't like doing long walks on a treadmill, and this early spring on the bike trail is one of my most favorite things. Today was all about avoiding the muddy and flooded parts of the trail, instead of noticing the budding branches and looking for hawks and deer. Did see some fat wild turkeys, though.

Anyhoo. Need to keep working on the old infrastructure. Expect to start logging in again...
