As she approaches North Beach, one of Triv's favorite spots, Mel can see Triv appear, dressed in her sparring gear and with a set of practice swords slung over her back. She's been working out, and is in a pretty good mood.
Mel spots Triv and grins. She doesn't run up to her or anything, but her pace does increase a little, and soon enough she's with her mentor. "Hey, Triv. Gorgeous day, huh?"
"And I don't even have to threaten to beat you black and blue to make you do it." Not that Mel doesn't wind up black and blue sometimes despite that... but hey, weapons training has its built-in risks.
Triv chuckles. "It wasn't me being distracted by him that I was worried about, teknon. Although I'll admit that I've been distracted a bit from that. I hope you'll be patient with me a little longer, I'll be able to concentrate better once I'm done with Faye."
Mel blushes at the verbal mess-up. "Well, you've never had to intimidate him too badly." As far as she knows. "Faye... that one girl I've seen around here a little bit?" While Mel hasn't approached her or anything, she's still spotted her. "And you don't need to worry about me being patient. I'm good at that."
Triv ruffles her hair, just because she can. "That would be her. Don't ever get into an arm-wrestling match with her, by the way - she's a vampire. One of the ethical sort, or I wouldn't be teaching her, but she's still stronger than both of us put together."
