Sometimes you come across something so true, it makes you cry.
I know plenty of people on my flist are aspiring writers and other artists, so I have to deeply recommend this TED talk to anyone who's ever battled with creativity. It's definitely inspired me to see the whole process differently... oh, just watch! :)
Awesome, awesome, awesome.

I remember a while back I had really wanted to start working on a novel ("Oh, y'know, I'm working on my novel, attending university..." haha!), and I remember just "putting it out there", so to speak. I asked for some kind of inspiration, and it was given to me. I was so damned excited about my idea, so thrilled to get to work on it. Something came down to me and whispered into my ear. The only problem is that I never began work on the idea because I was accepted into University and it ate up all of my time. D:
But taking the pressure off yourself and putting it out there into the world, waiting for a response, is such a great relief of stress. Especially when an answer comes back. :)
I am totally going to have to remind myself of this the next time that I write.
Also, just quickly, I always find that I come up with the absolute best stuff ever just as I am about to fall asleep. Too warm in bed to get up and write it down, too close to sleep to commit it to memory. D: (at least I'm not driving, though. that'd be aggravating! XD)

Actually the idea for the article I gave to KJ came just that way. Sometimes I let the ideas slip away, confident that I'll remember them in the morning. But now I'm starting to get into the habit of typing it into my phone (which is always an arm's length away, and doesn't require much conscious thought) before falling asleep.

I have never thought to type the ideas into my phone. Ack, you're a genius! :D Haha. I should do that from now on. I can just quickly keysmash the idea into my "notes" ap and then roll over and sleep. XD
