Chapter 4

Because of the usually, to be expected traffic jams, Yunho couldn’t get home as fast as he hoped. He drummed his fingers on the steering wheel and sighed in frustration. “C’mon.. drive for God’s sake..”

The night was already falling when he finally reach the house, 11 pm?! How could a jam keep him up so long? He was sure Jaejoong would be sleeping right now, so once he got his shoes and jacket off he hurried upstairs. “Jaejoong?” He slowly opened the door to Jaejoong’s bedroom, when the light that shone in from the corridor and hit Jaejoong’s bed… He was that Jaejoong wasn’t there.

He rushed over to the bed, pulling the sheets of to make himself sure his son wasn’t lying in his bed. A gulf of panic waved over him. Where could he be?! Without a second thought he ran down the stairs. “Jaejoong?!” He called out, but the only thing he heard was his own voice echoing through the empty house.

Where was he?!

He quickly took out his phone, he always had his phone on, there’d never been a time he hadn’t. He speeddailed Jaejoong’s number and waited in anticipation, only to get Jaejoong’s voicemail on;

“Anyeonghaseyo~ This is Kim Jaejoong’s phone, when you hear this message I won’t be able to pick up right now, please leave a message after the beep-tone please, thank you!”

Yunho’s eyes grew wide, he got the phone away from his ear and looked at it. “What the..” This wasn’t how it was supposed to go, Jaejoong had to pick up and tell him why he wasn’t home at this time of night. He tried it once, twice.. multiple times before he suddenly froze.

Something occurred to him… Jaejoong had been acting weird since the day before, he had been freaking out at night claiming there was nothing wrong.. His life changed ever since Dong Wook got into their lifes.

Dong Wook…

Wait a minute..

“Son of a bitch..” Yunho cursed under his breath, it had to be him, who else could it be?! Even after he told him so many times to not trouble his son….

This had to stop, he had to get his son back.

---
“P-Papa… Papa…”

Squirming and panting Jaejoong got his consciousness back. His head felt so heavy as he tried to sit up, the room was spinning around him and so many things flashed in his head. The men, the pain, that pleasurable feeling every time at the end, Dong Wook’s face, money, pink pills..

Tears rolled down his already tear-stained face, what did they do to him.. Why did he feel so gross.. so dirty.. At least, he wasn’t tied up to the bed anymore like before. Quickly he sought his clothes to get dressed, but.. his clothes were ripped, he managed to save his boxers and the shirt that was least ripped and curled back onto the bed.

His breathing became heavy as he started to panic, where was he? Why was he here? Where were Dong Wook, and his father? His heart-breaking wails echoed through the room, which he scared himself with. He took the pillow and covered his head with it, this was all too much, he didn’t understand.

Being with Dong Wook had seemed so perfect until now, he was sweet, handsome and caring.. Then why did he end up here?

Jaejoong was so deep in thought he didn’t notice the door opening. A boy, who was barely older than Jaejoong shuffled into the room with a tray, he was on guard, not knowing who would be the one he had to bring food. “E-Excuse me?” He said softly.

With that he scared Jaejoong, he only curled up more, sobbing louder. “N-No .. D-Don’t hurt me… P-Please~”

The other stepped back a little in shock. “B-But I’m here to bring you food…” He cautiously stepped closer, putting the tray on the small desk on the side. “It’s… over here..”

Slowly Jaejoong removed the pillow from his face, his widened eyes meeting those of the other boys. “Y-You’re not going to h-hurt me..” He asked in an almost inaudible voice.

“No.. I’m not going to hurt you…”

Jaejoong calmed down a little, though he was still scared. He hugged the pillow to his chest and bit on his lip. “R-Really?”

“Yes… I’m not like them..” He said in a soft voice, he moved slightly closer, to see if the other was alright with it. Jaejoong remember him of himself.. A scared little lamb. “It’s .. okay to be scared..” Jaejoong kept staring at the other. “B-But they.. they did things to me…”

“I know.. That’s how it always goes in here.” The boy said, sitting himself down beside Jaejoong. “Once you get in here it’s hard to get out…”

Jaejoong started to sob, trying to rub his teary eyes with his dirty shirt. “B-But… I d-don’t understand how I got here…”

“It’s because you fell in love with Dong Wook…, right?” The other asked, wrapping a arm around Jaejoong’s shoulder to comfort him a little. “That’s what happened to me, too.”

Slowly Jaejoong leaned his head on the boys shoulder, biting on his lip so he would stop crying. For some reason it felt like he could trust this boy. “H-He… He had always been nice to me..”

“But people can deceive you… That’s what I learnt when I got here.” Jaejoong could hear the other’s voice tremble as he spoke. “Y-You’re not the only one here…”

Jaejoong lifted his head up slightly. “H-How long have you been here?”

“2 years now… But I’m here because I don’t know better.” The other looked down, sighing sadly. “Before I got here it wasn’t much better…” He sighed again, threading his other hand through his chocolate brown hair. “I didn’t have anywhere else to go.. “

“I-It must be really hard..” Jaejoong studied the other, as for all the other guys he’d seen here, he was far different.. “C-Can I ask for your name..?”

That made the guy smile. “Of course you can, My name is Shim Junsu..”

Jaejoong slowly smiled as well, though weakly. “Shim… Junsu-shii..”

“Cut the shii.. I’m not worth it to be addressed like that..” Junsu said.

“But.. that’s how I always address people I just met..” Jaejoong looked down, fiddling with his fingers. “I’m Jung Jaejoong..”

“I know.. Dong Wook asked me to take care of you, but don’t let yourself be deceived by him, he may seem nice to do this but..” Junsu knew he had to tell the younger this. “But he only takes care of you so he can make money out of you..”

Jaejoong bit his lip, trying to stop another explosion of tears. “S-So… It’s really like that.. i-isn’t it..”

It was hard to see a boy being hurt like this, he pulled him closer, not caring if the boy wouldn’t like it or not. He made him remember of himself so much. He’d been exactly the same when he came here. “… I might not have a future anymore.. but you have, I’ll help you get you out of here..”

“Y-You’ll bring me back to my P-Papa?”

“Your papa? Of course I will..”

Jaejoong lifted his head a little, sniffling as he couldn’t stop the tear of tears that ran down his cheeks. “P-Papa will be so glad… H-He always told me to look out.. b-but now I had sex while Papa s-said I shouldn’t.. I-I broke his trust..” Once he finished his sentence he crashed his face against Junsu’s shoulder, wailing loudly as he felt so bad, he was a liar.. He hadn’t been truthful to his father. How could he ever face him again?

“Shh… it’s okay.” Junsu said as he stroke Jaejoong’s back in a comforting way. “He’ll understand, if your Papa really loves you he’ll look for you..”

“R-Really?”

“Really… Now calm down a little, you’ll only get worse when you keep crying…”

For the rest of the night, Junsu stayed with Jaejoong until he fell asleep. He tucked him in so he wouldn’t catch a cold. His fingers threaded through Jaejoong’s pitch black hair. He really felt for this boy.. Deep in his heart, he hoped he was right about Jaejoong’s father, that he’d do everything to find him and bring him to safety.

Maybe, it would make an end to Dong Wook’s filthy games as well…

But, where did he have to go when that’d happen?

---
“24 hours?!” Yunho said full of disbelieve as he got to the police station. “What do you mean 24 hours?! My son’s missing!”

The police officer leaned over the counter. “Look sir, we can’t start a search before a person’s missing for 24 hours. How long has it been since your son’s missing?”

“I don’t know… I came home at 11 like I said before… I haven’t seen my son since this morning when I dropped him off at school.” Yunho massaged his temples, he needed to calm down. “I was eating lunch with a colleague, and we kinda lost track of time so I didn’t come home before 11.. I just expected him to be there asleep, but he wasn’t there and doesn’t even answer his phone.”

“I’m really sorry Mr. Jung, there’s nothing we can do for you before the 24 hours are over, you know how teenagers are Sir, they do things against their parents will and such.. Just wait for him a little longer.”

With that, Yunho was walked out of the police office. He couldn’t believe this! Weren’t police officers meant to help out when your child’s gone missing?! “Aish, this can’t be happening!”

“You know how teenagers are Sir, they do things against their parents will and such..”

Not Jaejoong.. Jaejoong didn’t do such things.. Before Dong Wook came in the picture, that is. Jaejoong wasn’t home… He didn’t pick up his phone and the police wouldn’t even help him! Yunho started to panic, he knew there was something going on, and he had to get Jaejoong away from that Dong Wook.

He should’ve had him kicked out the first day he set foot in his house!

In frustration Yunho kicked the rubber wheels of his car, hurting his toes. Cursing more he climbed back into his car and covered his face with his hands.

What should he do? What could he do? He couldn’t do this alone..

Then, a spark of hope flickered within him. Yoochun. He quickly took out his phone and dialed his best friend’s number, but.. unfortunately once again, he got voicemail. Yoochun was never unreachable! Why now?! At a moment like this?!

Yunho got more desperate with every minute that passed. There was no one else he could call who would be able to be there in less than 5 minutes. His friends all lived outside the city, his parents miles away..

He was standing alone.

He leaned back into the driver’s seat. He never thought that something would happen to his son, his beloved child he cherished more than anyone else.. After all the hardship they’ve been through. Cheating, fighting and divorce… He knew the times he’d cradled Jaejoong until he slept, wiping his tears when they’d seen her off to prison. And now this..

He couldn’t bare another loss.

Nor, could he keep sitting here like that. He had to take action. He browsed through his list of contact, his eyes widening when a particular name caught his eye. Maybe…

“Good evening, Hyori-shii.. I’m sorry I’m calling at this hour of night but..”
