Making the accusation of plagiarism is a serious, serious thing that should never be taken lightly. It needs to be backed up with concrete examples and evidence, which I find you have not done here at all. You have made some vague references to characters, plot, and details, but even comparing characters I find almost no similarities between Obsidian and The Killer's Nightmare. The only similarity I see is that both are related to mafia/assassin verse, which has been such an oft-used AU theme I cannot see how you can use this as the main reason for this plagiarism allegation. You do realize that there are many fandoms, such as Prince of Tennis, that dabble in mafia and assassin verse?

Now, just because someone reads a fic and comments on it does not mean they plagiarized it from that specific fic. Have you read all of Obsidian? Do you know what happens in Chapter 12? If you don't have this much detail down, then you have no right whatsoever to accuse someone of plagiarism until you have studied BOTH fics (yes, this means actually reading Obsidian, have you done that praytell anon?) and made a careful comparison.

I'm glad you are standing up for your friend. It is important to be the voice for those who are silent. If I saw a fic that plagiarized my friend's fic, I would stand up for them too. But I would make extra sure that I did my research and did the comparisons and had specific examples to back my claim up. In addition, I find it highly suspicious you decided to comment now, on a public post, anonymously when your friend apparently "knew about this but only kept silent." Why did you not pm the two involved before? Why did she not pm herself? Is this some sort of ruse to create more wank? If you truly were interested in speaking for your friend, then why did you not pm earlier? In fact, if you were worried about wank, you could've made a fake journal and pm'd them.

It makes me sad that you simply would shrug when proven wrong about your accusation of plagiarism. Again, plagiarism is a serious accusation to make and should not be done lightly.

Believe me when I say that I am highly against plagiarism and have lost respect for some authors who I have really loved to realize that they have plagiarized. But to point fingers at an innocent writer is not right. Come back to me when you have some actual specific examples.
