I am trying to figure out how many words a story I wrote is. I don't have any word processor programs so I use online programs for that. From six different sources I received these results ....
1195
1205
1204
1195
1205
1195
I'm thinking the 1205 ones counted words such as don't as two separate words. But truth be told that is a complete guess. And though it's off by just one number the 1204 in itself a bit perplexing.
The story! I'm a bit proud of it and I don't say that much. It's a fan fiction for In Plain Sight. I am hoping Jason will read over it and give his input and ideas .... especially since he claims he can write/think in the style of one of the characters and when I mentioned last night said character felt a bit off he'd say he'd look over it. Here's hoping he will. After he does that I'll do a bit of research and find a beta over at
mary_marshall, because we all should know by now my grammar, formating blows nuggets and I never can quite master the present tense/past tense/future tense thing correctly.
I used to not care about what people thought of my stories, I write for myself not for others. If they like it fine, great but I don't care if I get praise of any type. Lately though I want it and even think I deserve it. But it gets frustrating when you pour your heart into something, edit it, have it beta'ed, post and get like two generic comments; and someone else a few hours later posts a story that to be honest is much weaker (or of equal merit) than yours receives dozens of comments . And that is the reason I'm reclunted to post anything I write and why I haven't in quite a long time. I'm talking of posting as in a community, posting my journal (or journals) alone is something entirely different.
I'm finding it difficult not to tell Tiffany that all the names she and Rick are thinking for their son ... well they aren't good. And I'm saying that based on the fact how they sound with their last name and not my personal option on the names. Their last name is Freelan and every single name she has posted on facebook ends with "n". THEY DON'T FLOW TOGETHER! There so far has been Camden, Greyson, and Braden. But hey maybe I'm the crazy for hearing the off putting sound and in reality they are all fine.
