Quite a Floydian Night : )

tonight i went to my buddy gus's house. but before that i went to sam's to help him put his new drum set together. it is a nice set, a TAMA, and were planning on jamming next weekend. i cant wait! tonight at gus's house, we actually didnt play video games at all! (which is extremely out of the ordinary for us heheh). instead, he popped in a tape he had recorded over a VH1 pink floyd weekend concert. it had the great gig in the sky and an extended version of Us and Them on it. both amazing songs. we're considering covering both of them :) but then, he revealed to me that he owned "The Wall" (the movie). and i told him i have yet to see it. we watched it. i loved it. a very well done powerful film. theyre not only ahead of their times in their music, but this movie, honestly seemed extremely well produced for the time it was made in (the 80's?). they had some very clever scene transitions, ties with the music, and symbolic truth that is very rare even today in films, let alone the pics from back then. i think they are officially one of my top 3 favorite bands now. i dont like how VH1 sorta "made fun" of the movie by saying things like "c'mon, you know they had to be completely STONED to do stuff like this" and they showed a brief clip, which was pretty random anyways, but seemed extremely messed up when brought out of context like that. but when seeing the movie, nothing in there really seemed a product of a stoner, i have faith that every frame in that film was put there intentionally. and what was great was that although at one point it's pretty messed up and bizzare, it made perfect sense. thanks cory, for pretty much introducing me to such an awesome and influential band!

well, it's two fifteen aye em over here and i'm sleepy. goodnight.
