Today is Nahuimiquiztli Cecalli (4-Death 1-House) in the year Ometochtli (2-Rabbit). The Rabbit years of the South are relatively indifferent in Nahua conceptions; like the rabbit who hops to and fro, the Southern years can be good or bad at their whim.
Azteccalendar.com lists the following as the tonalli of this day:
Day Miquiztli (Death) is governed by Tecciztecatl, the Moon God, as its provider of tonalli (Shadow Soul) life energy. It is a good day for reflecting on your priorities in life, a bad day for ignoring possibilities. It is a day of transformation, signifying that briefest moment between old endings and new beginnings.
The thirteen day period (trecena) that starts with day 1-Calli (House) is ruled by Itzpapalotl. The 13 days of this trecena are governed by the conflict between culture and nature: the native desire of human beings to maintain a lineage of customs and beliefs is periodically disrupted by the evolutionary leaps of nature. In this sense, nature is represented as the house into which we are born and culture as the house into which we move. These are 13 days of struggling to decide which house is really home. With every step forward, the warrior still stands at the center of the crossroads: the heart must be trained if it is to be a reliable compass. These are good days to focus on the future; bad days to focus on the past.
Rob Breszny, meanwhile, says:
Boston's Museum of Fine Arts has a collection of Japanese art that is never on display. It consists of 6,600 wood-block prints created by artists of the
ukiyo-e school, also known as "pictures of the floating world." Some are over 300 years old. They are tucked away in drawers and hidden from the light, ensuring that their vibrant colors won't fade. So they are well-preserved but rarely seen by anyone. Is there anything about you that resembles these pictures of the floating world, Cancerian? Do you keep parts of you secret, protecting them from what might happen if you show them to the world? It may be time to revise that policy. (Thanks to Molly Oldfield's The Secret Museum for the info referred to here.)

AstroBarry puts in his two cents:
Sit tight for a moment, Cancer, and keep your lips zipped. The appearance of certain supposedly-squared-away circumstances now unraveling before your very eyes could be just that: an appearance. In other words, this is an especially bad time to judge the overall direction and/or the relative success of these latest proceedings. You're seeing only one angle among many, not a comprehensive outlook. That said, I'm not going to deny that this 'look of things' may well inspire a bit of understandable nervousness… and there's little you can presently say to any of the other players to substantively impact their shifting viewpoints, which have already begun to veer away from where you thought they'd settled. Re-read that last sentence, please, with emphasis on the 'little you can presently say' part. If you believe a few persuasive words-of-encouragement on your part will presently help your case, think again; if anything, they could have the opposite effect. Your best bet is to stick closest to those whose viewpoints haven't veered-whose loyalty and solidarity you can count on without thinking twice-and ride this out alongside them. At least you're not alone.

On Friday Retrograde Mercury backs up into perfect alignment with the Sun in the final degrees of Gemini. This is a good time for going back over old disputes and disagreements and to revise and review them in order to seek new ways to resolve them.
the Lunar Phase which we call the DENARIUS MOON in Antinous Moon Magic.
This the classic "Money Moon" of ancient lore. This is the best time to fulfill dreams for achieving the riches you have always sought ... and remember that "riches" are not counted in terms of money, but in terms of the wealth of love and warmth you give to others.
The Sagittarius Full Moon is the "lucky" moon of jovial excess and exuberant spending.
Each Lunar Phase represents a Divine Spirit or Archetype. The Spirit of the Denarius Moon is the Spirit of Wealth and Abundance. It is the embodiment of largesse and of all material and spiritual riches. It is the Spirit of Richness in all its many meanings.
It is symbolized by a Roman coin bearing the profile of Antinous. In ancient times, Antinous coin/medallions were prized by his worshipers as a sort of portable Sacred Token or Pocket Shrine.
In ancient times many followers of the Blessed Youth felt it was necessary to have a tangible representation of Antinous with them at all times for protection and for blessings.
The rich had small, light-weight traveling busts or bronzes made to accompany them on their journeys. Poor people made do with more crudely made representations, such as coins and figurines and medals made of lead, clay and other base materials.
People of modest means who were lucky enough to get their hands on one of his commemorative coins would carry it with them for protection, often even wearing them.
Many were pierced by holes and hung from the neck as talismans: Antinous' image offering protection against evil, sickness and death. Other such medallions were mounted in frames to adorn household altars, and others were buried with the dead to invoke the god's aid on the perilous journey into the unknown.
Meditations and rituals tonight are best suited for delving into matters concerning material wealth, as you might expect. But on a far more sublime level, this is an ideal night for delving into the true treasures in your life ... the things you value most.
SO WHAT THE FUCK DOES ALL THIS BULLSHIT MEAN?
So it's a day of transitions in a trecena (13-day period) of transitions, in which my work is to bring out all those hidden treasures of mine without getting mired in uncertainty around things I've thought settled (and specifically to not get involved trying to change people or preserve their viewpoints). However, I might find use in unsettling some settled scenarios that settled awkwardly. And, money and riches and treasures scenario lalala.
This does worry me a bit as today I move forward with one possibility for building a temple, sending a written proposal to the household that thought they might be interested in hosting it.
More importantly, though, I see a resolution of Rob and Barry's seeming contradiction above: this is a day to concentrate on bringing ME out, not on affecting OTHERS. Self-expression, not communication or persuasion. We'll have to see how all that goes today, as I have few real plans other than getting my estrogen shot at noon from a friend of mine.
