i got into indy last night, dropped my things off at jess's place and went to the living room to hang out for awhile where i was greeted with smiles and warm welcomes. i hugged jordan and then sully hugged me -- carefully, 'cause i've threatened death to anyone who bumps into the girls-- and said welcome home.
welcome home.
i still can't believe it.
it was only a month and a half ago i decided to move, now here i am. i'll be staying with jess until i can get my driver's license and vehicle. once that's accomplished, i'm going to move into my own place. it's been so long since i've been able to afford to live by myself, i can hardly wait!!
today was my first day at my new job, it was fantastic!! i love my new boss-- she reminds me of maryann. when we close the cafe and have our lunch she sits down with us and goes over the day, goes over the next day's orders, asks for input for the following week's menu. everyone is treated like a valued team member, no favorites here. i love it!! when i asked if i could bring in some menu ideas her eyes lit up. i know i'm going to be happy here.
paul called to see if i wanted to get together for a beer or some coffee tomorrow. thursday is the poetry slam at the corner coffee. there's time to work on my personal projects. there's a fire-pit in the backyard for ritual (and bbq'ing, i'm sure). i didn't dread going into work today or come home stressed out and exhausted. and i'm certainly not going to be crying myself to sleep because it all seems so hopeless. brian, james, grey, and a slew of other friends have all said they''ll come visit when i get my own place..........
so yeah......... it looks like i'm home.
