Dear Yuletide Author

Hello, dear Yuletide author!

I am so thrilled you offered to write for my fandoms! (Clearly, you have excellent taste. :D) I have some general likes and dislikes, but don't be intimidated by that paragraph below; I am honestly incredibly easy to write for.

Likes: Female-centric fic; femslash and het and gen; morally grey characters; character-focused pieces (though I do like plot-driven fic as well); hurt/comfort; AUs, whether what-if scenarios or [insert fandom] IN SPACE!!! or hell, even your good old mirrorverse; relationship fic, whether romantic or platonic; tropes inverted or done with a twist. If you're inclined to the smutty side of things, I like kink of any kind but especially D/s, UST, frantic, passionate, incoherent sex, and passion in general, even if the characters in question can't bear to show it.

Dislikes: Crackfic, issuefic, graphic non-con for the sake of it, though using it as a plot point is totally fine. Kink-wise, please no scat or vomit kink. I don't have any particular squicks, nor any triggers. I really don't care for crossovers.

Now, onto the detailed requests! Presented in alphabetical order and with the optional details field of the sign-up form intact.

Alien: Resurrection: Annalee Call, Ellen Ripley

"If there is Ripley/Call, or Ripley-and-Call, or really anything with these two women interacting, I will be ecstatic! I mean it; I've been wanting fic about them since I first saw the movie, and as long as they're together in whatever way, I'll be happy."

Okay, so I usually don't wear shipping goggles while watching or reading something, but I came out of this movie shipping Ripley/Call so hard. Something set after the movie, with them constructing new lives on Earth or elsewhere would be great, or something about how they deal with being a part-alien clone and an android, respectively. Actually, something about them navigating a relationship while having major issues with relating to people would be very interesting! Again, anything with the two of them together would just be wonderful.

In Bocca al Lupo (album) - Murder By Death: Any songs

"I will be happy with pretty much anything you write for this. Want to elaborate on the strange, dark setting? Go ahead! Interested in writing about one of the characters from the songs, whether it's the lovers from "Organ Grinder" or the titular, tragic Shiola? I'd love to read it. Feel free to bring in bits of any other songs from the album, too; I love them all equally."

I've read a lot of the backstory and meaning behind the songs, but when I first heard the album, I had this vision of some dark Old West setting with supernatural elements, à la the Dark Tower series. So I think it would be very interesting to interpret these songs from a supernatural or magical viewpoint: is Shiola literally a ghost? What about the line "build them up from the dirt and clay"? And in Steam Rising - is the Devil literally coming to town, and why? Did the sins of the vagabond brother and the others in the world like him have anything to do with it? Apocalyptic scenarios would be amazing.

Norse Mythology: Skadi, Loki, Sigyn

"I'm fascinated by the relationships between Skadi and Loki, and Loki and Sigyn. Particularly, I'm curious about what exactly happened between Loki and Skadi after he made her laugh, and how and why Sigyn and Loki ended up married. I'd really like to read about Sigyn in general, actually!"

I'll come clean: I totally ship Loki/Skadi. First there was the goat incident, and then he claims he had an affair with her in Lokasenna. What happened between those times? And elaboration on Skadi and who she is would be fascinating. As for Sigyn, I'd love to see an exploration of Sigyn's character, especially some elaboration on her kenning of "Incantation-Fetter." And I quietly believe that she and Loki are totally in love, even if it's a complicated and difficult relationship, as any romance with a trickster figure would be, so exploration of that would be awesome, too! Or the difficulties of their courtship, maybe? Go crazy; I'll love whatever you come up with.

Runemarks Series - Joanne Harris: Maggie Rede, Loki, Maddy Smith

"This request started out long and lengthy, but it can be easily summarized as two things: Maggie and Maddy bonding (or fighting, or both. Whichever works!), and Loki getting up to Shenanigans. Or both at the same time!"

One thing I really liked about the books, in addition to the snarky humor and clever characterization, is how some of the plots were taken from Norse mythology and reinterpreted. So that would be really cool! I'd love to see Maddy and Loki's Excellent Adventures, maybe in the rebuilt Asgard, maybe making mischief in World's End. I can see Maddy reluctantly going along with Loki's schemes or being called in to help him. Anything about Maddy and Maggie would be absolutely wonderful, too; I'd love to see them work out a tentative friendship, undoubtedly full of conflict, or just have them muse on their relationship with each other. Maybe they can practice magic together, or you could address the issue with Maggie's unborn child and how Maddy might feel about that once she finds out. As for solo Loki fic, I'm really curious about what he was doing all those years under Red Horse Hill! That must have been seriously boring, so how did he amuse himself? If you're inclined to include the other characters, Heimdall and Loki snarking at each other would be hilarious.

Wow, that got long! Hopefully I didn't ramble too much and scare you off. As always, optional details are extremely optional, so if none of that moved you or the muses take you in a different direction, please pursue that! Also, while I talk about pairings a lot up there, I want to stress that I would be equally happy with gen. I will be crazy happy to receive a fic, no matter what, and I'm sure it will be quality.

To get a sense of my tastes in fic, my diigo bookmarks are here and my AO3 fic archive is here.

And again, thank you so much! Whatever you'll write, you'll make my day. ♥
