is it really good? i can't find anyone who would want to see it with me; most of them are turned off by the thought of a HUGE gorilla pounding on its chest.
Now is the only time I have to look at friends' pages, and I just saw that you mentioned "Ang Pagdadalaga..." and I just had to comment. (I don't know if you've posted other things about it, so sorry to be repetitive if I say things you've already said. :P) I loved it. I took my mom to see it with me on the first day of Christmas break. I don't quite understand why people keep focusing on the GAYNESS aspect of it. Surely it's not that big a deal. I loved the family, I loved the way the father held on to Maxi's hand, Maxi's arm slung around his neck, during a drinking session. I loved the way there was no absolute good or absolute evil with the protagonists and antagonists. And yeah, I cried, but then I'm a girly girl. :)
My friend also wants me to advertise a companion film--"Ang Pagbibinata ni Kay Rivera." Which is based on my life, duh. :)
I was watching it with three other gay men adn we were passing out tissue paper to one another, we were crying so hard. It's like the ideal gay childhood we all wished we had.
Yeah. only said that because when people learn that I'm a dyke (I don't mind the word), they think of me as boyish when I'm really one of the girliest girls you're ever going to meet. :)
Actually, that's one thing I hate about Philippine society: They always expect lesbians to be butch. I've met quite a few lesbians, and though some of them ARE butch, there is also quite the number of very "effeminate" lesbians, whatever that's supposed to mean.
Heck, my cousin's a lesbian and she's the farthest thing from butch you'll ever encounter!

AND, there is a scene where Adrien Brody has no shirt on and he's wearing these homey, comfy looking grey sweatpants that you just want to pull down.
*cough*
Ah, yes. It's a good movie.
