TADA!!!

Well I finally feel that Gentoo and I have come to an agreement. Since it will not boot up smoothly and run all nice and purdy like. :D

Lance and I have been working on several of our Mad projects so here are the updates:

Massive Ugly Server(AKA (Big)Bertha):

The server is currently having Slackware installed on it, this constitutes our 4th attempt to install Linux on the beast (and I use the term beast loosely). Previous varieties include Fedora Test 1 (all we could find at the time and ended up generating Seg faults at bootup), Mandrake 10 which did not complete its install and Fedora 1 (non-test) which also did not complete it's install. To be fair the Mandrake and 2nd Fedora installation failures where probably due to the incredibly poor quality of the installation media (since the CDs came from Sasha's car boot), they looked to be well loved.

Laptop to Robot Project:

The undertaking of turning an old IBM 390 series laptop into some kind of Wireless robot (hopefully running around on AI eventually) is well under way. We've torn the laptop apart and installed Fedora Core 2 on it (we wanted to use slackware 10 but it hate sthe PCMCIA chipset on the laptop, after all it IS a stink pad!). Lance is very keen to make/buy the shell for the robot before we start to tinker around with the parrelell interface for the servos, drive motors etc, I'm of a mixed opinion I like the idea of using a premade shell but at the same time it will be hard to find somthing thats suitable and fits within our budget (which isnt much). I think I'm actually more inclined to make the shell myself, that way at least it will be exacally what we want, the real issue is design, What the hell should a robot look like? (The age old question)

Well thats my question for today, What should a robot look like?
