Here's my latest and greatest, and, well... only, sewing projects to date.
Here's the collapsable bucket I made last night. I had a heck of a time trying to make the fabric stronger and I discovered that iron on interfacing doesn't have to be applied perfectly to work very well. Want to make your own? The tutorial is found
here at
instructables. Which btw is a very, very cool site. You don't even have to be into sewing because they have tons of geektastic crafts to browse through.
I just love my sock bags. The knitters will know what I'm talking about, they're little bags that hold a single ball of yarn and your current sock project. You wear it over your wrist so you can walk and knit on your sock at the same time. I first came across this sewing pattern on Ravelry and decided it was time to get over my fear of my sewing machine and just give it a try. I made one for myself and enjoyed making it so much that I wanted to sew some more. Since this was all I knew how to make and I had tons of the same fabric left over I ended up making three more, one for each lady at our knitting group. You can make your own following the sock bag tutorial which consists of two parts.
Part 1 and
Part 2. They were incredibly simple to make and I think everyone liked them, at least they said they did. I love mine at least and that's all that counts.
Here's mine open with my current sock project on the needles.
